Home education (also called home schooling or home learning) is the education of children generated from the home, typically by parents or professional tutors, rather than in a public or private school. [ENTER] “Home directed learning” is similar however it can be best overstood as a direct responsibility of ALL parents and families unlike home education which is popularly viewed as a minority choosing to 'opt out'. In the panAfrican culture the community and its institutions (educational ones and all others) are duty bound to serve the upright home directed learning interests of their member families. It involves taking the leadership role in One's family's learning experiences. This typically requires a commitment to self-development to ensure a continually evolving readiness for the continually evolving learning needs of the young people we care for. This responsibility rejects the “hand them over and turn your back” attitude which many express today as masses of parents send their children to pseudo education systems that they don't trust and actually fear. There is no blessing in turning a blind eye, only the unforeseen and the embraced vulnerability of fear.
